Colin Selleck’s black and white photographs explore the manifestations of organic pattern found in the natural environment. Folia: Wave Hill extends his investigation into the plant realm of exotic flora found in Wave Hill’s 28-acre garden landscape. His photographic practice is rooted in the careful observation of nature across scales. He uses medium-format and 35 mm equipment and makes all his prints in the darkroom, creating a more direct experiential record of nature.
When he is not photographing, Colin Selleck designs and writes control software for robots and automation equipment. He currently has his own engineering company. Colin has exhibited at the Yellow Bird Gallery, Newburgh, NY; Goliath Visual Space, Brooklyn, NY; Barrett Art Center, Poughkeepsie, NY; Artists Space, New York, NY; Creative Arts Workshop, New Haven, CT. He holds B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
