Web Site

“tête-à-tête” is a site-specific installation in the chashama Garment District window.

A series of 24 handmade sculptural heads made out of papier-mâché, are on display.

All the heads were based on the same figure (from a mannequin) but several influences were used to create the traits, features and props such as images found in the news, in magazines, on the internet and the artist’s own family.

Positioned at eye level, the paper heads and passersby will face each other like in a “tête-à-tête” (private conversation between two people, literally “head-to-head). The disembodied heads act as possible receptacles for storytelling.
