The Walsh Gallery at Seton Hall University is pleased to present windows@walsh4.0, an annual exhibition of installation art in the Walsh Library’s arcade windows. Each year, Gallery Director Jeanne Brasile invites six artists from the New York metropolitan area to create site-specific work to be on view 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The exhibition engages viewers outside the traditional gallery setting, thus creating unexpected encounters with art. This year’s featured artists include; Gianluca Bianchino, Larry Dell Vandana Jain, Lester Johnson, Lorena La Grassa and Lori Merhige. The installations will occupy the arcade windows on the Walsh Library’s first and second floors .

Jeanne Brasile, curator, conceived this annual exhibition as a way to bring art to non-traditional audiences while at the same time providing opportunities for artists to test-run or refine existing ideas for installations. Notes Brasile, “Working in the window spaces presents a unique set of challenges and creative problem-solving techniques that are unnecessary in the more flexible gallery environment” said Brasile. “I am always excited to see how differently each artist addresses the issue of working in a well-defined space.”
