After an extended stay at The Cooper Union, Brian Souser will be exhibiting new work in his solo thesis exhibition on December Sixth. (The Cooper Union 7E7 st 5th FLR Lobby 10003)
Souser’s new work beats on minimalism and realism with concrete paintings, neon, plastics, and painting/objects. His new work encircles an entropic order, material and the power of painting invisibility by using vehicles of the banal, the overwrought, and the pair.
“There is never any question of what to paint, but how to paint” Robert Ryman
The new work will be on view from Dec. 6 to Dec. 10 with an opening reception on Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 6 to 8 pm. During the opening two guest performers will be showcased, Colette Nelson and Holly Nelson (no relation). Colette Nelson is a prominent NYC bodybuilder with many national and international titles. Holly Nelson is a talented violinist who also performed at the 2010 Whitney Biennial.
