FOOLSGOLD ARTS is pleased to present Fr**K Off, an exhibition and auction featuring over fifty contemporary artists which will benefit the nonprofit organization Frack Action. This is Foolsgold Arts’ seventh exhibition in support of the natural environment and its inhabitants. On November 6th, a cocktail reception and silent auction of over 50 artworks by a selected group of prominent contemporary artists will be held at RH Gallery. The proceeds from the auction will go directly to Frack Action.

Fracking is a hot topic issue for New York State right now as Governor Andrew Cuomo decides whether or not to allow fracking in the state. Fracking, or high volume horizontal hydraulic-fracturing, is a gas drilling process that involves pumping millions of gallons of water, chemicals and sand underground to extract natural gas by blasting and breaking apart shale bedrock. Many of the chemicals that are used in this process are known cancer-causing carcinogens that leak into the aquifers and can pollute the earth and our drinking water.

The Sky is Pink, a new anti-fracking film directed by Josh Fox, the Academy Award nominated director of the feature documentary Gasland , will be screened at the opening. I AM PICTURES will also be showing a special PSA featuring testimonials from Adrian Grenier, Leighton Meester, Zoe Kravitz, and Sandra Bernhard among others. In addition, acclaimed folk singer Elvis Perkins will perform a special acoustic set accompanied by Cornelia Livingston.

Artists in the exhibition include; Sean Lennon, who has hand painted a guitar from his personal collection; British text artist Simon Evans, Bergdorf Goodman window designer John Gordon Gauld, contemporary embroiderer and Opening Ceremony collaborator Richard Saja, lauded printmaker Trenton Doyle Hancock, and Vanity Fair photographer Patrick Fraser. Other noteworthy artists include Micah Ganske, Colette Robbins, Lisa Lebofsky, Eric White, Alison Blickle, Rachel Rossin, Rosalie Stone Morris, Jason Bereswil, Michael Kagan, Jonathan Beer, John O’Reilly, Paola Andrea Ochoa, Joel Dugan, and Coke Wisdom O’Neal.
