Jakup Ferri’s videos stem from his desire to participate in the globalized systems of art production—the biennials, fairs, mega-exhibitions, and their formalized and standardized channels of communication. By narrating his resume on-screen, videotaping a studio visit, and luring potential clients and curators in heartbreakingly poor English, Ferri illuminates the conditions that regulate success and serve as filters to what is believed to be a democratic, diverse, and international art world.
