On Thursday May 4th, Brooklyn College MFA students were surprised to find their thesis exhibition, Plan B, shut down and the locks to the gallery changed. It was revealed that Julius Spiegel, Brooklyn Parks Commissioner, objects to some of the artworks’ content. The students have mounted a new exhibition in a new location containing the same artwork from their thesis show and new work that comments on the events that followed the censorship of Plan B.
See Plan C(ensored) for more information on the shutdown of the thesis exhibition.
There will be a performance at 8pm the night of the opening.
