Josedgardo Grandados’ equally skeptical view of the future is expressed through his series of roboglyphs. With these works, Granados juxtaposes “progress” and its often destructive quality with ancient art forms and symbols. He uses pencil and paper to further convey the fragility and instability of our modern times brought on by the lack of cohesion in our ever-chaotic world. The result is a muted vision of contemporary society that is in conflict with the spiritual side of human existence, which is often lost in the fray. Granados’ works strive to reawaken this spirituality in the modern psyche to bring about a change (or, maybe even a revolution).
