Cheryl Hazan Projects is pleased to present the first New York exhibit of sculptures by Dutch artist Diederick Kraaijeveld.

Oudhout means old wood in Dutch. Kraaijeveld constructs his relief sculptures from scavenged painted wood, retrieved from dumpsters, old buildings and construction sites. Each object consists of meticulously pieced together fragments of found wood, made to fit with hand and power saws. Kraaijeveld, a self taught artist, and former television commentator, has invented a technique using painted wood to build his objects into photorealist images of American icons such as; muscle cars, converse sneakers, a coke bottle and a coffee cup.
