JLA Tribeca presents works by Helen Herder, Valentina DuBasky, Catherine Ramey, and Claire Seidl.

Helen Herder studied at The School of Visual Arts, most recently earning the New York Art Student’s League’s Merit Scholarship for 2008. Her streetscape oils brim with dream-like surreality, blending the sensibilities of Richard Diebenkorn and Edward Hopper.

Valentina DuBasky has been exhibiting in New York for more than 20 years. Her birds, rainforests, and “cave wall landscapes” feel like a combination of Joan Miró and John James Audubon, with Klimt-like metallic inlays providing the gilded feel of ancient panoramas and medieval tapestries, portraying beasts of jungle, plain, and rainforest.

Catherine Ramey studied at the University of South Florida and Florida State, and has been exhibiting in New York for 20 years. Her floral still lives glow with a luminosity and depth that call to mind the sensibilities of Johannes Vermeer and Rembrandt Van Rijn.

Claire Seidl has been exhibiting in New York for the past 30 years. Her photographs are ghostly reflections, channeling the apparitional feel of Albert Pinkham Ryder, at once haunting and familiar, teeming with life.
