Three artists emerge from the shadows to explore our fantasies and fears, our follies and foibles.
Artists have always played with the tension between sunlight and darkness. Shadows have transfixed us, fascinated us and provided fertile ground for discovery and exploration. What lurks in the shadows, both literally and metaphorically, has always held a haunting and seductive allure. Shadows reflect our fears, our deepest and darkest secrets of the past and even our hopes and dreams for the future.
When our bodies, minds or spirits are blocked from the light, our shadow selves appear to remind us of what is hidden and what is blocked from view or hidden deep within our consciousness.
The upcoming exhibit “Out of the Shadows”, features mixed media work by three contemporary artists: Laurel Garcia Colvin, Dominic Albo, and Wayne Zebzda as they delve into the shadows to explore the outer reaches of the conscious and unconscious realms of reality.
