The Gallatin Galleries is pleased to present Finding Work: Representing Labor in Contemporary Art, curated by Keith Miller. Opening reception: Friday, November 13th from 6:00- 8:00 pm.

Finding Work features a range of work that addresses the issue of representing what is often invisible and undervalued: labor and laborers in our changing workforce. As individual workers and working conditions are explored a number of questions are raised: how have we come to perceive and represent the modern worker? What value do we assign to her labor and what purpose does she gain from her work?

A panel discussion, entitled “The Image of Labor,” will be held on November 17th at 7:30 pm in the Jerry H. Labowitz Theater for the Performing Arts. It will feature Carol Quirke, Esther Cohen, Karina Skvirsky, and Molly Pearl.

The Gallatin Galleries are located at 1 Washington Place and are open to the public from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Please visit our website at http://gallatingalleries.com
