Changing Title by Erica Wessmann transforms a unique exhibition space into a display of alternate reality where architecture ripples, suspended in space. The wall – cut into and split – is no longer a faceless border. Its wavelike form rolls and bulges and fills the space almost entirely. Blue light emanates from within the structure, literally highlighting the cuts and fluctuations in surface. The constant TV-like glow shifts in relation to sun and street light, passerby reflections, and modulations within the sculptural form. There is no fixed view of or into this slice of space.
Erica Wessmann graduated from Cooper Union School of Art in 2007.
