FOUR 11 Gallery is excited to kickoff 2010 featuring the impressive large-scale silkscreen paintings of artist Daniel Dens. This solo exhibition will focus on the artist’s interest in music and pop culture, and will introduce his new sculptural concept “La La La.” Daniel’s most recent work evokes a nostalgic reminder of rock history by depicting disappearing musical icons and a 25’ Record Spine Collection.

The Belgian born artist found his inspiration while traveling the world. He began his art career in Venice, California creating mixed-media pieces on recycled materials, including paintings, silk-screens, and collages. Daniel has spent the last five years refining his skills and creativity in New York City. His paintings are produced using classic methods of silk screen printing, on large scale, to focus attention on image and color. Dens’ use of color, subject, and simplicity make his artistic approach to silkscreen painting fresh and unique.

Daniel’s work, known for decorating Soho, is now is being sold and recognized around the world by many celebrity clients and collectors. He is currently showing at the offices of Saatchi & Saatchi in NYC, Gallery Number One in Dublin and Pavesi Fine Art in Milan. In 2008 and 2009, Daniel commissioned several paintings for the VH1 Hip Hop Honors and Critics’ Choice Awards. His work has also been featured in films including “I Think I love My Wife” and “P.S. I Love You,” and in a national print advertisements for Verizon. Daniel continues to explore his style and technique and routinely shows his work to those interested at his studio in Brooklyn.
