The inspiration for Sibling Rivalry is partly based on the book Hell, by Lolita Pile, that deals about the empty life of super-rich girls in Paris.

Like the character in the book, the two sisters in Sibling Rivalry are very rich, pretty and live an “empty” life spending their nights dressed in designer clothes, wandering around the most expensive nightclubs and hotels of the city.

L.A. Raeven is a collaboration between the twins Liesbeth and Angelique Raeven (1971, Heerlen, the Netherlands). Liesbeth studied and worked as a nurse, then studied at the H.K.U School of Arts in Utrecht. Angelique went to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and was the assitant of Jean Paul Gaultier. Both studied at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht and have been working together since 1999.
