Gallery SATORI is excited to present the newest series of paintings by Geujin Han in the Project Space. Han’s abstractions hold an emotional charge that is at once detached and lyrical. His paintings juxtapose controlled hard edges next to poured paint and gestural markings, resulting in a visual interplay of the thin and the thick, geometric and biomorphic, haphazard and the meticulous. The compositional mix of the straight line and flat shapes along with the painterly textures suggest a harmonic coexistence of the human hand with the mechanical.
Geujin Han received his MFA from Hunter College and holds a BA from University of California at Berkeley. Han’s paintings have been included in solo and group exhibitions at numerous venues including Jack Shainman Gallery, Caren Golden Fine Arts, Cork Gallery at Loncoln Center, MoCADA Museum, Y.O.H. Gallery, Gallery SATORI in New York; Rockridge Gallery, Nexxus Gallery in California; and Kimi Art in Seoul, Korea.
