For those who wonder how commercial galleries decide who and what to exhibit, NY Studio Gallery has demystified the artist selection process with the Reality Gallery: American Slide-All. This virtual exhibit spoofs reality-based shows so popular in today’s mass media through a contest that encourages widespread participation by all levels of artists, increasing their exposure and offering a chance at a solo exhibition.

How does the Reality Gallery work? Now in its fourth year and increasing in popularity, NYSG’s judges panel will select two solo shows, and then narrow the field from nearly four hundred to approximately twenty-five finalists. The finalists’ images will be included in a virtual exhibit in the gallery, along with a verbal explanation of their exhibition concept. The gallery-going public is invited to vote and the winner will be awarded a solo exhibition at NY Studio Gallery during the following year. NYSG accepts submissions in all media from emerging, mid-career and established artists worldwide.
