There is one thing that I forgot to tell you.

A lump of clay when impressed upon makes a negative space. This space describes an event that can be comfortably occupied by the viewers gaze. We can rest in the concave space of action or we can turn that gaze back upon our selves and take responsibility for our position as viewers, as spectators designating the title spectacle on that which we are consuming. The desire to be seen, to impress and to be impressed upon is an innate human need.

Gloria Hole is a document of a sexual performance. These photographs describe an imagined space for queer desire to be directed and complicated by bodies, unable to be read. The hole has been created in context to a policed history of queer sexuality, and in this series the illicit and anonymous environment is being transposed upon queer bodies.
