New York visual artist and musician Camomile Hixon has created a body of pop art on canvas using glitter as the primary medium. The super-sized word messages have developed from her work as a musician and songwriter. In her art she seeks to isolate poetry fragments in silence and without the movement of melody. The shimmering quality of the glitter breathes life into the words, and allows for a deeper resonance with subtle meanings and interpretations. Hixon also creates paintings of fireworks, oil derricks, enormous flowers and other images. Hixon’s one-of-a-kind pieces are held in private collections throughout the country. This is the first public exhibition of her work.
