The work of Art in General’s artist in residence, Božena Koncic Badurina (Croatia, b. 1967) involves performance, intervention, and staged participatory situations that interrogate the power dynamics of social interactions. For her residency at Art in General, Kon?i? Badurina choreographed a series of unfamiliar social encounters for visitors in and around Art in General. Often using pedestrian-like performers to shift the traditional relationship between spectator and subject, visitors to the space became the unexpected focus of the performances. Documentation of these events will be presented in the exhibition More Passive Than Every Passivity, which will open with a discussion between the artist and Art in General Assistant Curator, Nina Horisaki-Christens on April 17 at 4 pm.
