Fred Torres Collaborations is thrilled to present Tall Tales, a two-person exhibition featuring the works of Kristofer Porter and Christopher Davison. Individual works by each artist will be on view, as well as the first public viewing of Call & Response: A Visual Conversation, a dialogue between the two artists on a 24 hour cycle featuring over 122 drawings.

The artists have influenced each others practice and imagery throughout their twelve year friendship, oftentimes using similar iconography or techniques. Both artists also create psychologically compelling narratives through their figurative relationships. There is a sense of vulnerability, anxiety, sexual tension and play that recur in each artist’s works—yet the final results are unique to each artist.

Porter, born in CA in 1978, currently lives and works in Brooklyn. Although he has been quietly making drawings for over 10 years, this is the first time his work will be publicly exhibited.

Davison is a Philadelphia based artist currently teaching printmaking and drawing at the Tyler School of Art. He had a exhibited throughout the United States and Europe, and has previously exhibited in 2009 at Nicelle Beauchene Gallery in New York. This is the first time that Davison will be exhibiting at Fred Torres Collaborations.
