EyeLevel BQE is proud to announce a new program in support of artists traveling to NY to participate in local residencies:
SNAPSHOT will feature a presentation of studio work from a single artist at their mid-career allowing them to communicate the experience of working intensively while gaining interaction and feedback from a viewer’s perspective.
Join Artist Miguel Angel Cordera, displaying his latest work created during his summer practice at: The Elizabeth Foundation of the Arts.
*Miguel Cordera is a member of the collaborative project ALTERNA Y CORRIENTE; non-profit project and exhibition space aimed at broadening the contemporary art scene of México City.
ABOUT MIGUEL CORDERA http://www.cordera.com.mx/
I paint as a way to understand my surroundings, myself. Most of my work has been autobiographical and is often related to altered states of consciousness. My work consists of acrylic on canvas, painted in a medium scale and is often created as a related series of multiples. The execution of the work is done by layering different forms to create a sensation of depth and chromatic balance with an euphoric touch that departs from geometry and gets closer to ornamental design. Through this series I relate to modern painting and other contemporary artists that work deeply with color.
