Fourth Arts Block (FAB) presents its latest ArtUp public art program. “I am here”, by Harumi Ori, is a 4×24 feet seamless orange construction mesh relief of a local street scene. Harumi graciously invites the viewer to experience the concealed stillness within a fleeting moment on East Fourth Street and Bowery. The composition will be mounted 14 feet above the sidewalk, on the ArtUp scaffolding bridge at the 70 East 4th Street Cultural Center. think coffee is hosting a concurrent exhibition of Harumi’s work at their Bleecker Street location from September 16 to October 7, 2010, as part of their rotating art program.
Harumi Ori was born in Kyoto, Japan, moved to New York City and graduated from the School of Visual Arts. Currently, she lives in Brooklyn, NY and has a studio at the Artist Alliance Inc. (AAI), space in the Lower East Side. Some of her exhibitions in New York include a solo show at the Queens Museum of Art in 2003, a group show at Travessia in 2007, a group show at Cuchifritos as part of her residency at AAI in 2009, and a solo show at the Ise Cultural Foundation in SoHo in May 2010.
Come join us at the reception and take a stroll to the ArtUp scaffolding bridge! To invite others to this event, please use the “Forward to a Friend” link on top of ArtForward header.
Fourth Arts Block (FAB) is in collaboration with ArtForward to produce this public art program. ArtForward is a growing fine art consultant company that focuses on community based cultural initiatives. It is a fulcrum for creative efforts among organizations, small businesses, artists and collectors.
