Denise Bibro Fine Art is pleased to present Linda Lippa: Fleeting Moments, on view in our adjunct gallery, Space 4, October 21 – November 20, 2010. Lippa’s new series of oils examines contemporary culture’s state of continuous motion. She posits the notion that we have lost the ability to punctuate time, and that our individual experiences are no longer distinct, but instead blend into the miasma that is the passage of time. Juxtaposing highly rendered backgrounds with blurred subjects in the foreground, the artist conveys the sense of speed and perpetual motion that is our present day reality. Many canvases depict night scenes, providing the added drama of neon, and the luminous glow of car and street lights.
