In her paintings, Kerstin Brätsch aims to create a system of mutually significant signs. The focus of her work as a whole is the interface between the conceptual representation of a model and the intuitive experience of reality. Within each painting, the individual objects relate to each other in an associative way, while at the same time each piece can be read as a building block within the overall construction of the entire series.
Born in Germany, Brätsch is currently an MFA candidate at Columbia University. This will be her first show with the gallery.
