Launchpad presents a group exhibition of work by visual artists Melanie Baker, Margarida Correia, Shaun El C. Leonardo and Dionis Ortiz.

The program’s title, Identity: Masked and Unmasked, refers to the investigation of identity undertaken by each artist. The pieces by Baker and Leonardo present “masked” men — politicians (Baker) and wrestlers (Leonardo) — as a way of critiquing our perceptions of power and masculinity. Conversely, the work of Correia and Ortiz unmasks their subjects, revealing their complex identities and offering a window into their lives.

An artists’ talk about the show will be held on November 17.
