Grappling with the fact that all living things die, Grace Markman playfully yet seriously explores the mysteries of luck and living.

Grace Markman was born in Paterson, New Jersey. She has a B.A. in Studio Art from Fordham University and holds an M.F.A. in painting from Bard College. Markman has exhibited her work for more than 20 years in numerous group shows, both upstate and in New York City. She has been awarded artist residencies at Yaddo and Blue Mountain Center. Her drawings were included in Winter Selections 2001 at The Drawing Center. This is her second solo show at Holland Tunnel.
