MET Museum Guards Publish SW!PE Magazine, Volume Two

SW!PE Magazine is pleased to announce the publication of its second issue, Volume Two. The magazine is to be accompanied by an exhibition and reading at 25 CPW Gallery. In this issue artists’ work dealing with the Metropolitan Museum of Art as subject is highlighted, through both word and image. Along with participants from the first issue, many new artists and writers have been added to the publication, establishing the fact that there is a vast creative community at the museum.
SW!PE Magazine was founded in 2009 by artists working as guards at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It features the diverse creative output of fellow MET guards who are artists and writers, with work ranging from painting to performance, and short stories to critical essays. The magazine is produced and published independently of the museum.

SW!PE – Volume Two, Soft cover, 127 pages, will be available at the opening reception. The exhibition is free and open to the public Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 2 – 6 PM.
