Art addressing metaphysics. With the unseen being eternal and the seen being temporal, we view the art as relics of an experience or performance. Just as delving into spiritualism (along with shifts in science and technology) led to the birth of abstract art at the beginning of the last century, we feel we are currently at the edge of a collective shift. The quest to experience what is behind the veil is visibly moving out of secrecy, though this subject matter has been largely taboo in the past few decades of art discourse.
The subject matter is dealt with through: collapse of subject-object duality (the seer and seen); depictions of shifting or layered states of consciousness; depictions of group and individual worship; sexual excess expressing the longing to be one and continuous; an exploration of voids; talismans; cosmological theories and the channeling of spirits; fictive religion.
