“Out of the Studios” is the annual exhibit of artwork by students in the Art School. The Art School is a downtown community art center that has been offering classes for over 100 years. Beginners as well as practicing artists take classes to learn a new medium or refresh their skills. Alumni of the Art School include Louise Nevelson, Adolph Gottlieb, Barnett Newman, Moses Soyer, Peter Blume, Jules Olitski, Ben Shahn. Come to the opening reception of June 14 and stop by the studios to see welding, pottery, stone carving studios and the black and white darkroom.
