The Italian curatorial team l-i-n-e-a-r-o-s-s-a continues its temporary guest appearance at .NO with a solo show by the Italian street artist/environmental engineer Andreco: prints, videos, performances, and an interactive installation that invites the viewers to witness the creative process
In Contemporary Alchemy, or the Relations between Humans and Nature, Andreco draws on his scientific background to create an unexpected universe: He begins with an exploration of ancient tribal rituals and ends with an investigation of NASA research on plants capable of filtering air in space stations. Andreco’s work embodies a new concept of ritual based on the exchange of substances. By decoding and utilizing natural processes to transform harmful substances generated by human activities, this contemporary alchemy gives us a map to reconfigure the relationship with our time, space and actions, both on a metaphorical and a practical level.
