Jay Kelly presents small minimalist drawings executed in pastel and graphite on vellum. While Kelly continues to distill the essence of balance and harmony of modernist architecture and design from the ‘50s and early ‘60s, his newest work is characterized by intuitive mark-making and a letting go of geometric form and structure. His abstract drawings are represented in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the British Museum and Werner Kramarsky.
