Party Dresses for the New Year New You Jennifer Wroblewski
266 W 37th Street (between 7th and 8th Ave) New York, NY
November 10-27, 2011 9 am until 7 pm
In an extravagant, wholehearted homage to the familiar forms of fashion and the associated joys of holiday window shopping, 266 W 37th will be temporarily converted into an illuminated workspace where fantastical dresses are fabricated from paper and charcoal, wire, glass, mirrors and glue.
Paper dresses crafted by hand in the perennial language of drawing are an elegy to the end of our opulence. The dressmaker’s dedication to familiar forms is achingly sincere. The paper dresses are un-wearable.
