Join us for the opening exhibition presenting new sculptural and installation work by artist Caleb Nussear, the “Landsat Seven” Satellite.
A live “cold” synth, and exotic instrument score by Ian M Colletti will accompany the reception.
All of the work presented is based upon consideration of the physical forms and materials of earth-mapping satellites.
The total room installation will be centered around one large 80-inch high satellite sculpture, that takes the existent Landsat satellites as a point of departure, and in addition feature wall-mounted 2-dimensional works and slide and video projection of abstracted landscapes in reflective faceted mirror screens.
Materials used in the construction and ornamentation of the sculpture will include yet are not limited to: electrical circuitry, 24-carat gold leaf, mirror, recycled plastics, re-purposed found objects, and miscellaneous junk.
This installation will function seamlessly and add to the musical / extra-curricular ongoing programs Vaudeville Park, ending in a special 4 day Music and Art CMJ Music Marathon showcase.
Caleb Nussear is an American artist living in New York. Trained in philosophy and critical theory, his work is based upon meeting points between the natural world and scientific systems of knowledge.
