Inaugurated on March 2008, Ouchi Gallery has since strived to promote the young Japanese art community. We strongly believe that the ability art has on humanity is immense and the value it brings to our lives goes beyond business and trade. Since our establishment, we have exhibited the works of over 500 different artists from all around the world.

In 2010, Ouchi Gallery launched a special exhibition called a “100 Artists;” in hope to unite a myriad of artists. The exhibition assembles the works of a hundred different artists with various visions. Held for a month, the exhibition devotes itself to share, teach, and inspire both participants and viewers.

The wake of the March 11th Earthquake in Japan and the many other traumatic and revolutionary events that have come to shape our world in 2011 has helped us form a solid vision for this year’s “100 Artists” exhibition. From January 5th to the 29th, a hundred artists from the US, Japan, and around the world will be on display; each piece based on the theme of “Love.” To punctuate this atmosphere of “Love,” during the opening reception there will also be a big proposal. One lucky man who wishes to affirm his devotion to his other half will have the chance to do so, surrounded by budding young artists. We hope that the exhibition will be a place where art can be used as a vehicle to remind us of the power of unity. It will certainly be a special night for people to warm their hearts in the middle of winter and remember what’s important, “Love.”
