Spattered Columns, an exhibition space operated by the nonprofit organization Art Connects New York (ACNY), is pleased to announce the opening of “Here and Everywhere”, on Wednesday, January 11th, 2012. This juried group exhibition features New York City-area Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) alumni. Curated by local artists and MICA alums Colette Robbins ‘03 and Micah Ganske ‘03, “Here and Everywhere” highlights 17 emerging and established artists and aims to bring notice to work that merits attention for its originality and desire to step outside the expected but that, in the right context, is still relevant within contemporary discourses. The exhibition features photography, painting, sculpture, performance art, video, and installation.

Exhibiting artists include: Allan Baillie ‘69, Seth Cohen ’03, Elisa Decker ‘74, Jake Dibeler ‘10, Nicolas Djandji ‘08, Emily Gibson ‘96, Melanie Jelacic ‘99, Eric Lo Presti ‘02, Visakh Menon ‘07, Joseph Nero ‘84, Courtney Puckett ‘02, William Reed ‘06, Alyse Ronayne ‘08, Lisa Schilling ‘02, Joshua Schwartz ‘06, Ned Snider ’99, and Chaney Lane Trotter ‘10.

The opening reception for “Here and Everywhere” will take place from 6pm-8pm on Wednesday, January 11th, 2012 at Spattered Columns, 491 Broadway, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10012, and will feature a live performance event by participating artist Jake Dibeler. The show will run until February 1, 2012.

About Art Connects New York (ACNY) seeks to enrich the lives of New Yorkers by making original visual artwork more readily available in non-traditional settings.
