This exhibition explores how artists undertake representation of the figure without using a physical form. Deliberately moving beyond the meaning of direct portraiture, Figured focuses on unconventional interpretations to reveal the artist’s intention beyond what meets the eye. Using words, possessions, names, and symbolic shapes, the artists of Figured both capture the essence of the individual they represent and leave the viewer wanting more.
