In the place between expectation and desire, worlds of youth and adulthood collide. Playing The Game, Daryl Vocat’s first solo exhibition in New York City, features a collection of etchings and screen prints exploring masculinity through depictions of ritual, subculture and violence. His work plays with adult notions of identity through a boy’s world of wisdom, witticisms and icons.
Daryl Vocat lives and works in Toronto. He received a BFA from University of Regina in Saskatchewan, and an MFA from York University in Toronto. His main focus as an artist is printmaking. Vocat works out of Toronto’s Open Studio. www.darylvocat.com
