For this exhibition, Winnipeg-based Neil Farber presents a new body of works on paper. These ink, watercolor and collage drawings are larger in scale and more intricate than his previous works. These new drawings feature Farber’s enormous and ever-evolving cast including snakes, children, Draculas, and frogs drawn in saturated colors and laid out in detailed patterns. In a number of the works, Farber has also applied matte medium layered with ink to create rich 3-dimensional surfaces.
Neil Farber is a member of the Royal Art Lodge (includes Marcel Dzama and Michael Dumontier) and is featured in the travelling exhibition “The Royal Art Lodge: Ask the Dust†which opens at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles in November 2004.
