SW!PE Three: Metropolis, featuring the work of artists employed as guards at various New York City museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Natural History, Guggenheim, Whitney, New Museum, and MoMA PS1.

SW!PE Magazine was founded in 2009 by artists working as guards at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It features the diverse creative output of fellow museum guards who are artists and writers, with work ranging from painting to performance, and short stories to critical essays. Previously featuring visual and written work exclusively from guards employed by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, SW!PE Magazine has expanded its scope to include guards from any museum in New York City. The magazine is produced and published independently of the museum.

The opening reception for “SW!PE Three: Metropolis” will take place from 6pm-8pm on Wednesday, March 7th, 2012 at Spattered Columns, 491 Broadway, 5th Floor, New York, New York 10013. The exhibition will run until March 29th.
