“Idioms are the perfect folk art. They belong to no one, are not authored by anyone and are used by all who use English. I collect them, edit them, arrange them and hand paint them in an italicized digital font of my design. The font is technical, empirical and precise while it carries a wide variety of mostly imprecise and casual subject matter. Basically, it is a low tech reflection of commonly expressed thoughts through high tech signage. With roots in Pop, Conceptual, Fluxus, advertising and journalism my artworks are short hand communication prompts.” -John Boone

One Art Space is dedicated to the promotion of contemporary art, celebrating established figures and introducing new artists to enrich the New York art community’s aesthetic diversity. The 1700-square foot venue is located in TriBeCa, lower Manhattan, at 23 Warren Street (street level), between Church Street and Broadway.

Gallery hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
