HASTED KRAEUTLER is pleased to announce the first exhibition of paintings by KIM DONG YOO in the United States, beginning February 9 and running through March 24, 2012.

KIM DONG YOO is best known for paintings of iconic images that are comprised of thousands of smaller images, which either contradict or support the primary subject, such as John F. Kennedy, Mao Tse-Tung, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, Madonna and Albert Einstein.

Born in 1965 in Gongju, Korea, KIM DONG YOO has exhibited widely in Korea and internationally since 1988. He now lives in Seoul, Korea. Kim Dong Yoo has exhibited at the Sungkok Art Museum (Seoul, 2010), the Seoul Arts Center (2009), and the Savina Museum of Contemporary Art (Seoul, 2007). His work is in the collections of the National Museum of Contemporary Art Korea, the Sungkok Art Museum, the Samsung Museum of Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the 93 Museum (Paju, Korea), the Savina Museum (Seoul, Korea), the Kumho Museum of Art (Seoul, Korea), the Daejeon Municipal Museum of Art (Daejeon, Korea), the Daelim Contemporary Art Museum (Seoul, Korea), the Seoul Museum of Art, and the Busan Metropolitan Art Museum (Busan, Korea).
