BRUCE WILHELM, FEELINGS FOR DEAD TREE THINKLINGS JARED LINDSAY CLARK, BILD SHANNON WRIGHT, MECHANICAL REPRODUCTION
Mulherin + Pollard is pleased to present our February exhibits:
After a mixed media series about the planet Mars, Bruce Wilhelm returns to pure painting in this new series of acid washed earth born landscapes.
California artist Shannon Wright’s installation Mechanical Reproduction tackles the title with yet another whimsical artwork which could be read as “misguided labor-saving device” in this case, an over-sized rubber stamp is used to create a damask wallpaper which looks like it stamped by an angry bureaucrat.
Jared Clark will be creating one of his “Bild work which uses found objects ranging from wood to kitchen sponges. He composes these objects in such a way that from the front the sculpture poses as a painting and on the reverse you find the maelstrom used to create the bild. Jared is often after a Greenbergian flatness “the privileged pane of painting” which he then seeks to subvert with a almost jolly, playful underbelly.
artists will be in attendance.
