Please join Leonard Tourné Gallery this Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 6:30-8:30pm for an art opening featuring new work by Memphis, Tennessee-based artist William Hinson.
Hinson’s paintings reflect an attraction to objects and sites that, when examined, reveal a testament to time and endurance; subjects that are wrapped in history and narrative, no longer functioning yet engaging and visually energetic.
His current work interprets surfaces, from industrial sites and architectural remnants. His process involves working the surface, scraping to reveal, painting over, obscuring hard edges.
Hinson received an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 1991.
