Rahul Alexander, Meredith Hoffheins, and Matthew Pisacano present three separate MFA solo exhibitions at Pratt Intitute’s Steuben South Galleries in Clinton Hill (Brooklyn Campus). Reflecting on themes of abstraction, material form, public spaces, and environmental concerns, the exhibition is the culmination of individual thesis projects at Pratt Institute running from April 9th until April 13th. An opening reception will be held on Monday April 9th from 5-9PM.

Rahul Alexander works in a variety of mediums and genres. His works are material endeavors that touch on aspects of sculpture, design, and installation. He also works collaboratively alongside his collective (BroLab).

Meredith Hoffheins draws, smudges, tears, erases, paints, and constructs. She avoids an overly mature, lifeless quality by creating the appearance that her drawings are frozen mid-process. The work interacts with one another across the wall, while on the floor, paper containment vessels disregard their material weakness.

Matthew Pisacano’s exhibition titled Valley of Ashes is a collection of work set around the ecological problems facing Flushing Bay in Queens, NY. Referencing the history of the bay, he launched an investigation of causes for deterioration and potential hazards facing the surrounding communities.
