In both her installations and drawings, Amy Rathbone juxtaposes diverse forms, colors and materials for the creation of a self-contained and meditative space, imbued with intuitive playfulness and humor.

Rathbone was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and is now based in San Francisco. She holds a BFA from Ohio Wesleyan University and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. She has exhibited in San Francisco, Davis, Chicago and Prague, and participated in group shows in New York and Tokyo.
