Conflicting Cosmologies is a series of abstract color paintings given a linear narrative by short, five-line poems which start at the creation of the universe and end with the discovery of writing and art.
The name Conflicting Cosmologies references the period we’re currently in where our old religious sensibility, Gnosis, is being stripped away by the new usurper, Science. This battle between logic and magic, the head and the heart, takes place in the body and is expressed through Art, which becomes the fulcrum upon which the knowledges can achieve balance.
The conflict between our cosmologies, both ancient and modern, manifests in the form of disbelief and demonization of opposing camps. What both parties need to understand is that Science without Spirit is empty and Gnosis without Mind is an anachronism.
