The artwork Jeffrey Leder Gallery has chosen for the exhibition focuses on simplicity. Blending a variety of formal languages, created in different media, the show presents pure and reductive art. With 45 recent works by 16 American artists the visitor sees an encompassing approach to arrangements of shape, color and surface.
Reductive intends to stretch the boundaries between abstract geometric and representational art. The components compliment each other and, as a whole, go beyond what has been called Minimal art. The exhibition has an educational dimension, that intends to create a rich experiential experience. Formal simplicity and basic structures can open sublime dialogues. We aim to exhibit work that heralds freedom of thought and provokes awareness of one’s connection to art.
