A special one-night-only gallery event featuring the US debut of Fine Art / Fashion / Dance from the artist’s 2011 Glenfiddich Artist in Residency Program in Dufftown, Scotland. Salinas was one of eight artists around the globe invited to live on the distillery grounds for three months last summer, being the first fashion designer to ever participate in the program.
In keeping with the tradition of Gaelic ceilidhs (community gatherings of celebration and entertainment) , Salinas has also organized a ceilidh raffle of prizes generously donated by global and local Scottish companies such as Walkers Shortbread, Scotch Club NYC, Glenfiddich, and others. All proceeds of the raffle that evening will go to the Queens Council on the Arts.
YUNG-LI DANCE has been commissioned to perform a Highland fable Salinas penned, entitled- The Kite, the Crow, and the Castle. Performance at 7PM & 8PM.
Gallery opens at 10AM with public reception and events at 6PM. Sponsored by Glenfiddich.
