Please join BRAC on the Block for Death in the Afternoon, a collaborative performance featuring Irvin Morazan and Shaun El C. Leonardo of mythological and cultural personas in a ritualistic afternoon of spectacle and absurdity.
Irvin Morazan’s work intertwines his indigenous ancestry with New York City subcultures to create modern day mythological characters that embrace spectacle and absurdity. For this performance, Morazan will transform into Ghettoblaster by wearing a fantastical sculptural headdress to evoke the various movements of Shaun El Conquistador Leonardo who, masked in heroic disguise, will maneuver in tune with Morazan as if in ritualistic trance, controlled by summoning or channeling each other’s mystical presence.
